A CONVERSION IN SIZE ---- BOLE JINXIU PARK

　　Because of the uneven micro-topography of the park, it has been divided into several different areas each according to a specific and functional need.

　　The entrance has been placed at the northern end of the park with regular and even formations. Water also is fed into the area and flows down a slight slope.

　　Following the central axis of the park and finishing with a 3.5 meter higher terrain, paved areas have been constructed together with grassy slopes, a pond and a platform for playing in the water.

　　With not too many separations with regard to size and keeping decoration to a minimum the whole space has been kept to a minimalist and simple design.

　　The whole purpose was to create a spatial effect which was open , straightforward and as simple as possible.

　　Next and because of the changing micro terrain, the southwest corner has been turned into a number of smaller spaces of great variety.

　　A continuously curving pedestrian path serves to connect many of the quieter spaces which have been difficult to utilise.

　　Also in the southwest corner and at the highest point of the garden, a pavilion has been constructed with a partially open roof and is an ideal place to overlook the entire park.

　　Further, two half basketball courts have been constructed at the southern end.

　　The space to the east extends to the edge of a dry canal and further maximises the entire use of space.
